Sadly some Companies in Fiji still break the simplest rules of sustainable harvesting by insisting on poaching of Live Rock, Coral and Aquarium Fish in other companies allocated fishing areas, two such companies are REL Fisheries Fiji Limited and Tropical Fish Fiji Limited, ( the latter is now out of business).

However we went to the trouble of obtaining a court order that prohibits both companies and certain individuals from entering our fishing grounds in the future.

Unfortunately REL Fisheries Fiji Limited is currently still occasionally breaching this court order and causing an individual Iveri Nacolarara, ( also named in the court order ), to do so on their behalf, and are "in Contempt of a High Court Order", it is sad that companies in the USA still support such Companies with no regard for the environmnet or law!!

We consider that two companies exploiting the same reef will inevitably lead to unsustainable harvesting, but these Companies both claimed to be 100% Indigenous Fijian owned, and somehow more wholesome than us, and both breached most Fiji Fisheries rules and some Laws too, ( due to political or departmental connections ), one of the Companies even brought Filipino Divers that were destroying our fishing grounds for certain species of fish, and although we have no proof we suspect they used chemicals, possibly cyanide, again fortunately due  to perseverance against all odds by my Indigenous Fijian partner and myself , these individuals were eventually deported, and can no longer harm our reefs, we have always prided ourselves of being able to fence net or hand net aquarium fish only and no other means, ( I am the only non Fijian in a company part owned by an Indigenous Fijian and with 99% Fijians employed, I have resided in Fiji for 11 years and have reinvested all profits in Fiji ever since).
